The personal annual review

Do you conduct a personal annual review?

Great leaders make time for one each year.

June might not seem to be a natural time to do a year-in-review.

But if you are a school leader, it is the perfect time.

Why?

Because it is a moment for you to spend time reflecting on what has happened over the past year and all that you have accomplished.

It’s also a great time to think about your goals and growth for the coming year.

I always love to start with the following questions:

1. What went well this year?
2. What didn’t go as well as I had hoped or was unexpected?
3. What did I learn?

You should also take time to consider what you hope to accomplish in the coming year.

Research shows that taking time to reflect on leadership reaps rewards for you and your teams.
