Thank you SAIS!
I’m heading home after a couple of great days at the SAIS - Southern Association of Independent Schools Summer Conference in Sarasota.
Yesterday, I had the pleasure to speak to a room full of leaders on the topic of “Developing Internal Leaders.”
Quick takeaway: Great leaders develop other leaders. But it requires a thoughtful and intentional plan about what the next step actually looks like.
When we actually prepare leaders for the next step and the potential challenges, we create leaders who are willing to learn and ask for help when needed.
And that has a tremendous impact on their teams.
I always come away from these conferences feeling inspired but the people I’ve met and feeling optimistic for the future of our schools.
A huge thanks to Elizabeth Maglio, Abby Schultz, CMP, and the entire team at SAIS for putting together such a wonderful experience!
P.S. If you’re looking for a fun night out, get SAIS school leaders on a boat at sunset to celebrate Debra Wilson!
