Do you set boundaries at work?

Unpopular opinion:

Open-door policies don’t work.

As a leader, I prided myself on being available whenever I was in my office.

But now I realize that it was a bad decision.

I was open to constant interruption.

And the “real work” happened on nights and weekends.

A solution:

Set open-door hours and communicate why you are doing it.

Modeling boundaries and deep work is essential as a leader.

Don’t underestimate the power of boundaries in enhancing your work and your well-being.

P.S. Reach out if you don’t know where to start- I’d love to chat with you.
