Burnout is not a badge of honor

It's time to stop wearing burnout like a badge of honor.

As leaders, we often take pride in working long hours and pushing ourselves to the limit.

We think that by sacrificing our time and energy, we're proving our dedication and commitment to our jobs.

I used to think that I had to be available to my team 24/7.

I was constantly exhausted and stressed, and my work suffered as a result.

So I started to set boundaries.

It looked like this:
▶ Moving text conversations to email to handle during work hours
▶ Closing my office door to engage in deep work
▶ Blocking my calendar so I could workout
▶ Not being on email 24/7
▶ Saying no

If you're feeling burnt out, I encourage you to take a step back and evaluate your boundaries.

Boundaries create a work environment that supports our and our team’s well-being and enables us to perform at our best.

Remember, setting boundaries isn't selfish.

It's a critical part of being a leader.
